Blackberry, Microsoft, VoiceVantage™ concur; Government and Public Sector Attacks Up Significantly

Boston, Massachusetts. (January 20, 2024)  Frances M. Lynch, CEO of THC Technologies Corporation, a private corporation engaged in the global biometrics solutions market and owners of VoiceVantage™, today stated, “March to May 2023 saw a 40% increase in attacks targeting government agencies and the public sector. As well as a 13% increase in novel malware samples compared to the same period last year, according to Blackberry.”

The Blackberry report states these actors focus on targeting government agencies, military organizations, businesses, and financial institutions, frequently adapting their techniques to make their attacks harder to detect and defend against.

Microsoft recently confirmed that a cybercriminal gained access to unclassified government email accounts as part of a campaign that affected about 25 organizations, including federal agencies. The hackers used Microsoft's Outlook Web Access in Exchange Online and to access the unclassified email accounts.

It is ever more important given this significant increase in attacks and potential network vulnerabilities to secure all internet access. All VoiceVantage™ products provide the same unmatched security features and benefits. Our extensive product portfolio and specialized consulting expertise support security authorities worldwide.
